Criminal Law Defamation and Invasion

Question: Talk about the Criminal Law for Defamation and Invasion. Answer: Presentation: Criminal law has been characterized as an arrangement of legal guidelines which have been characterized and perceived to keep the individuals made sure about and to demoralize any sort of unlawful act. It could be expressed as the assortment of guidelines which oversees the brutality of wrongdoing; limitation of explicit acts which obstruct with the congruity and great order of the network. The mediation must be made to such a sum, that the proof of such act would result into criminal punishment upon the offender, by method of either a fine or a disavowal of opportunity (HG. Organization, 2016). It was additionally seen that despite the fact that the legitimate arrangement of the state has been characterized as a customary law framework, however the criminal law of the state was in a general sense established in character (Soltani, 2003). Likewise, it has been seen that there was consistently a delicate balance among a people bit of leeway to freedom of verbal correspondence and different people benefit to defend their great name. Be that as it may, it was regularly muddled to make out which private remarks were proper and which cross paths with the law of criticism (Start Up, 2016). As indicated by the Blacks Law Dictionary meaning the term Defamation has been characterized as, a planned counterfeit discussion, either distributed or straightforwardly spoken, that hurts anothers character or great name. It contains the customary law torts of criticism which incorporates the non-verbal or composed declarations and a defamation including a verbal decree (Defamation Update, 2014). Slander Law alters as an individual cross the limits of the state, yet there were normally sure settled rules that make laws the same regardless of where an individual was. It was plainly expressed that if an individual accepts that the person has been the victim of some offending announcement, regardless of whether criticism or defamation, at that point they would require recording a legal dispute so as to recover remuneration. Regularly asserting it could be expressed that so as to succeed the legal dispute, an individual must show that: Someone has made an announcement This declaration requires to be bantered, non-verbal or in any case expressed as it were. Distribution of the announcement For a revelation to be attested as distributed, it must be seen that another gathering probably watched, tune in to or decipher the slanderous statement. The other party who was not the gathering to the case would be a person who was someone separated from the individual creation the announcement and the subject of the presentation (Singapore Legal Advice, 2016). The announcement made an individual mischief be fruitful in a defamation continuing, the statement must be delineated to have made damage the issue of the declaration. This implies the affirmation more likely than not hurt the character of the subject of the statement. The announcement was bogus Defamation law asserts that it would possibly accept revelations made to be slanderous in the event that they were, indeed, counterfeit. A genuine presentation, regardless of how harmful, would not be estimated as criticism. The announcements didn't fall into an advantaged bunch At last, it could be expressed that so as to express a presentation to be abusive, it must be characterized as unprivileged. Policymakers have discovered that an individual couldn't sue for maligning at times when an announcement was estimated to be of an advantaged nature (Cook, 2016). In this way, as in the present case Zul made a demarking comment about the handicap of Jing so it could be insisted that he made a presentations which was hostile and furthermore it was made in the middle of the road so the outsider likewise caught wind of it. In this way, he would be at risk for harms. On account of The Gleaner Co Ltd and another v Abrahams [2004] 1 AC 628 it was obviously attested that the issues of slander have a critical trademark which was not shared by the statements of private mischief which have happened. The expenses frequently serve as repayment as well as a useful and basic limitation. The avoidance was adequate as the harms were compensated either by the respondent or under a standard of reimbursement which was probably going to be receptive to the occasions of such attestations (Straits times, 2016). For another situation of Basil Anthony Herman v Premier Security Co-employable Ltd and others [2010] SGCA 15 by this court (at [65]) it was held that while costs for denouncement might be conceded as a solitary prize, it was expressed that, in giving expenses for affront, an adjudicator should isolate and explain the expenses remunerated for the defamation itself and the additional pay compensated for the rankling demonstration of the announcement producer in association with the demonstration. The craving for some type of division was self-evident where fiscal misfortune was frightened. Additionally, so as to make sure about oneself an individual could guarantee an activity to be done under the standard of private safeguard. Private guard could be viewed as a structure of a legal resistance that may have the effect of pardoning a person of legal commitment if that individual mischief or killed other individual so as to ensure himself (Kelly Warner Law, 2016). Private guard involves the avocation of the presence and body of a person from physical injury, for example, injury and assault. Besides, it likewise contains the benefit to protect another individual or his territory from a mischief (Singapore Law, 2016). However, certain necessities must be placated for the defense to be effective in councils. For example, there has been no benefit of individual guard if there were opportunities to look for law authorization security. In qualification, there was a benefit of individual protection against a crazy person individual, if that individual had been attempting to attack you. Segment 99(4) of the Penal Code likewise avows that an individual couldn't force more injury than was required for self-preservation. In the event that clearly the assailant has been opposed or beaten, it was not balanced for a person to endure forceful on him for the sake of private safeguard (Ministry of Health, 2011). In outrageous issues, an individual could slaughter an aggressor in close to home barrier, however just under the ensuing circumstances. According to areas 100 and 103 of the Penal Code avows that individual resistance could expand to energetically causing murder if an individual was: Battered and had reasonably confined passing if an individual had not taken act to ensure oneself; Being assaulted or kidnapped Being assaulted up In the home and it was busted around evening time Under the danger of rowdiness by flares. Likewise area 299 and 300 of the Penal code oversees the offenses of guilty manslaughter and murder (Singapore Statutes Online, 2016). Segment 300 avows that an individual would be said to submit murder, on the off chance that he cause the demise with the end goal of: Causing demise of another person. Causing corporal mischief that an individual know was probably going to execute the person Causing substantial mischief and that real damage was fair-mindedly solid disapproved to be sufficient in the typical method of character to cause loss. Causing demise insightful that what an individual was doing was so seriously destructive that it should probably cause passing. Along these lines, in the event that any of the previously mentioned segments were fulfilled, at that point murder would be supposed to be submitted, aside from where one of the specific resistances likewise applies when: There was disturbance The criminal had the benefit of individual guard, however surpassed it The criminal was more than the authority of being a local official in accordance with some basic honesty The demonstration was devoted as an outcome of an unexpected conflict The harmed party was over 18 and had consented to being killed There was an issue for decreased responsibility in light of the accuseds mental capacity were extensively hurt (Singapore Legal Advice, 2011). On the off chance that the condition can be categorized as one of the focuses which have been referenced over, the criminal would not be dependable of homicide however rather would be responsible of punishable manslaughter not adding up to kill (SingHealth, 2016). Along these lines, for this situation Jing would not be held subject as she cut Zul as a method of Provocation. While the passing discipline would respect to be mandatory for blamed people who were seen as blameworthy for homicide, it was currently adaptable aside from the underlying piece of segment 300 with appeared from 1 January 2013. As it were, up to an individual had not hurt the passing of the casualty with the precise motivation behind doing as such (as was typically the issue for murders without a second thought), and were seen as to blame for homicide on an assorted part (for example expecting to cause a substantial damage which was sufficient in the customary course of character to cause demise), the court could either still decision a person to death, or choose to condemn a person to life imprisonment and beating rather (Singapore Legal Advice, 2010). Then again, if an individual was not seen as to blame of homicide, he might be seen as to blame of chargeable crime not adding up to kill. The battered lady guard was one of the protection which was used inside the courts which expresses that a person who was blamed for a homicide was upsetting from this infection at the substance time frame. Since the protection was most typically used by ladies, it was ordinarily portrayed in court (Lawyer Singapore, 2016). It has been seen that there has been no restorative classification for this specific condition in the sense which was used by legitimate delegates, however it has in the past been claim to in the arrangement of the courts. Equivalent to an appeal of frenzy, battered individual condition was simply a legal word used to give to the cruel mental stun brought about by family abuse. Georgetown McDonough Current Student Interview

This interview is the latest in an Accepted.com blog series featuring interviews with current MBA students, offering readers a behind-the-scenes look at top MBA programs. We hope to offer you a candid picture of student life, and what you should consider as you prepare your MBA application. Accepted: First, can you tell us a bit about your background? Where are you from? Where and what did you study as an undergrad? What is your favorite flavor ice cream? Teri: My background is Puerto Rican and Mexican-Irish and I grew up in Kensington, MD, just outside of Washington, D.C. I studied psychology at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. Go Big Green! My favorite flavor of ice cream is Dulce de Leche. Accepted: What events or experiences in your life led you to pursue an MBA? Teri: I chose to pursue an MBA to build a strong general management foundation. After undergrad, I joined an education start-up to teach high school students and design AP curriculum, but discovered my passion for marketing when the start-up’s founder asked me to support the growth of the company by managing the company’s marketing campaigns and sponsorships. Focused on advancing my marketing career, I spent the next 5 years with the Advisory Board Company, a healthcare research, technology, and consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., where I pioneered the firm’s first product marketing role and grew the strategic marketing team over the physician performance technology and consulting divisions. Partnering with product development and sales teams, I launched 5 new technology products and designed a strategic plan for the firm’s physician-focused solutions. This experience working across cross-functional teams to advance corporate strategy and drive both top-line sales and bottom-line growth helped me build a strong marketing foundation, but also motivated me to deepen my knowledge of other business functions. Through conversations with mentors at work and other professional women that I met through the Forte Foundation, I knew that getting my MBA was the best next step for me. Accepted: Can you talk about your experience with the Forte Foundation? What are some of the benefits of being involved with this organization? Teri: As a Forte Fellow, I have access to many great benefits, including networking events, webinars, and the annual Forte Conference. Even before school started, I was welcomed by my second-year Forte mentor from Georgetown who helped me navigate the first weeks of school. Through my Forte participation, I contribute to the Forte Fellow blog and have been empowered to lead the first-year women’s mentoring program as the VP, Mentorship for the Georgetown Women in Business club. Forte sponsored events helped me evaluate pursuing an MBA early on and I am thrilled that I can share my experience and help other women strategically consider this decision as well. Accepted: I see youre also an NSHMBA Fellow and a Toyota Fellow. Can you tell us a little about these programs? Teri: Through Georgetown, I received a National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) Scholarship and a Toyota Fellowship. NSHMBA is committed to increasing the number of Hispanics with graduate business degrees and is a premier networking and skill development organization for Hispanic professionals. As a NSHMBA Scholar, I have received a financial scholarship, access to exclusive networking events and skill-building workshops, and admission to the annual NSHMBA career conference where I secured my summer internship offer. I also have volunteered for NSHMBA and participated in the annual Brillante Awards gala where McDonough’s full-time program was honored for Education Excellence. The Toyota Fellowship recognizes successful undergraduate academic performance and at least four years of professional achievement for MBA candidates concentrating in marketing, strategy, or finance. As a Fellow, I have been invited to exclusive networking events with Toyota. Accepted: What is your favorite thing about the MBA program at Georgetown McDonough? Least favorite? Teri: McDonough has empowered me to apply my leadership skills in both global and local contexts. My favorite part of the experience has been building relationships with students and the community as a Marketing Club Leader and as a Board Fellow where I helped an international non-profit with brand building and digital platform development. My least favorite thing about Georgetown is probably the limited dining options on campus, but I heard that they are planning to renovate the food court this year! Accepted: Which other b-schools had you considered? Why did you think Georgetown was the best fit? Teri: I was accepted at NYU Stern and Duke as well but chose Georgetown because I felt a strong connection to the people and the place. The Georgetown culture is collegial and grounded in service to others. I can honestly say that the people I have met are committed to solving the world’s challenges and serving the local community- we have partnerships with over 40+ community service organizations and non-profits in D.C. Georgetown’s general management and international focus was a great fit for my career goals. Being close to home and family was a great bonus! Accepted: What are you doing for your summer internship? What role did Georgetown play in helping you secure that position? Teri: This summer, I have a brand management internship with Johnson Johnson’s OTC Global Franchise Organization in Fort Washington, PA. As a member of the Global Franchise team, I am focused on identifying and sizing pain care growth opportunities for key brands (TYLENOL ® and MOTRIN ®) across 16 global markets to inform the 2013 global strategic plan. Georgetown’s Career Services team and the Graduate Marketing Club peer advisors (second-year MBA students) were invaluable in helping me prepare for my interviews at the NSHMBA career conference. I felt confident going into internship recruiting because of the time that Career Services and my marketing peers invested in me to help me prepare for company conference calls, mock interviews, and case interviews. Accepted: How would you rate Georgetown and Washington, D.C. as a setting for business school? Teri: Georgetown is a fun and unique setting for business school. Georgetown’s D.C. location gives students unparalleled access to government, business, and cultural leaders. Some of the highlights of my first year have been campus events with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Muhammad Yunus founder of Grameen Bank, and Bono. `` Because I Could Not Stop For Death `` - 880 Words

Death is an aspect of life that everyone becomes acquainted with sooner or later. The poem, â€Å"Because I Could Not Stop for Death,† by Emily Dickinson, is seen as a reflection of the passing of time in one s life while living. No one knows when it is their time to die, and we live everyday as if tomorrow it promised. Dickinson is saying that since we as humans tend to live on the expectation for tomorrow, we don t think about the end of our life or when it will be. That time will stand still when, and only when, life draws to a close, yet it will no longer matter. Dickinson starts the first stanza of the poem with, â€Å"Because I could not stop for Death – He kindly stopped for me† (807). Clearly she was not ready to go, death simply took her by surprise and brought her busy life to a halt. This could be seen as a beautiful way to take on death because death is usually said in such a morbid tone and the fact she associated â€Å"kindly† with death makes it beautiful. The second line says, â€Å"The Carriage held but just Ourselves – and Immortality† (Dickinson 807). The author emphasizes Carriage, Ourselves, and Immortality. Dickinson seems to be talking about her own death chariot and by immortality, she believes her death is not the end, but rather as a step to eternal life. She continues in the second stanza with, â€Å"We slowly drove – He knew no haste and I had put away my labor and my leisure too† (Dickinson 807). Project Management Concepts Computer Security Department

Question: Discuss about theProject Management Concepts for Computer Security Department. Answer: Introduction: This paper focuses on the analysis of an ongoing project for replacing outdated computer systems by Computer Security Department (CSD) of the Federal Government so that they can manage public clients. The project started with a shortage of fund as Government only approved $1.5 million but the business case for the project had loosely identified some of the risks rather than implementing a risk management plan. Hence, this report identifies the status of the project as well as the analyzing the project plan in addition to comparison of project assessment with project management practices. This paper will help to recommend the closure of project as well as how the improvements can be made in future for such types of project. Report on Current Project Status This section of the paper describes present status of the CSD computer systems replacement project. This project was being handed over to a company named Good Programs to supply the product and help with the execution. The organization perceived the promoting chances of this anticipate and subsequently, it proposed to offer some extra elements that were not in the first extension, gave the division permitted them to be, fundamentally an innovative work (RD) site. The previously mentioned reason can be said as one of the major cause behind the project failure. Moreover, the shortfall on its original budget request delimited the project committee to appoint Financial Manager for the project instead of any Project Manager [8]. This is considered as another pitfall in this project as almost in any project, a Project Manager plays a vital role. In context to this case study, the Financial Manager had to undertake his normal duties apart from the project that led to over allocation issues. Another vital issue that is essential for any project is communication [2], in this case study it has been identified that there was lack of communication between the steering committee and Good Programs. At some point after the first venture was checked and started, both the first CEO and Finance Manager had been moved out of the division and new officers had been named. This came about to hamper the advancement of venture, as there was no solid reports accessible concerning the actual scope, changes to the scope, project schedule or cost for the project. Structure of the Report A Project report is defined as a document that is always written in business environments. It is often prepared at the beginning of any project or can be also developed while a project is running in the organization [5]. It consists of some basic information like Reason for the undertaking, beginning and end dates of the venture alongside depiction of assignments and exercises of task and other data. A task report comes in imperative documentation of an association so it must be made in the best proficient way. The most important features that a Project report for almost any successful project must contain is the Project Scope, Schedule, Cost, Risks and Quality [6]. In context to this case study of CSD computer systems replacement project it has been identified that it did not followed or developed a proper Project report prior to execution of the project. The project scope was not defined and conveyed to the higher-level management [1]. In this project, the stakeholders were also not identified before executing this project, which is an essential element to ensure success of the project. The budget that was allocated for the project was low as compared to the estimated budget. In this project, a proper risks analysis and management was not followed to identify the external as well as internal risks associated with this project [4]. The starting and end dates for the project were estimated but there was no development of project schedule to describe the various tasks and activities required for completion of the project. Another aspect that the CSD project report was lacked is formation of a formal communication plan between Good Programs and th e Financial Manager. Comparison of Project Assessment and Project Management Practices A successful project management involves analyzing the various processes involved in the project as Planning, Communication along with Monitoring and Control whereas Project assessment involves identifying the completion of project on time, on budget with high quality results [3]. In context to this case study of CSD, to replace their existing computer systems it can be said that the project was lacking the implementation of project management practices. This is because there was lack of proper planning prior to execution of the project as well as there no provision for constant communications between the Financial Manager and Good Programs on a regular basis. The best practice in project management involves defining the scope and developing schedule for the project [7]. These two practices were not at all adapted by the Financial Manager prior to execution of the CSD project, as it requires a skilled Project Manager for the success of a project. The other fact in terms of project as sessment is that there was absence of reports about the ongoing progress that helps to assess the project in terms of time, budget and the benefits to the organization. Recommendations The Project Closure requires addressing various areas of clean up, so some of the recommendations for this particular project has been provided as below: Prepare agenda of remaining things from the project and closeout the things as quickly as time permits. Engage with financial groups to guarantee that all contract responsibilities are concluded in context to the project. Accomplish final accounting in terms of budget for the project. Develop the complete report on project. Collect responses from reviewers using questionnaire. There are also various points to be considered from Project Closure review to ensure the success of future projects as below: Analyze previous project review and define new scope. Review the essential documents related to the project. Consider making use of individual reviewers. Utilize adequate process for collecting data from stakeholders. Deliver applicable reports. Prepare recommendations for the future project. References [1] E. Much Ado About Nothing Essays (1519 words) - English-language Films

Much Ado About Nothing Written between 1598 and 1600 at the peak of Shakespeare's skill in writing comedic work, Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare's wittiest works. In this comedy, Shakespeare's drama satirizes love and human courtliness between two couples who take very different paths to reach the same goal: making the connection between inward and outward beauty. Much Ado About Nothing shows different ways of how people are attracted to one another, and how their realization and definitions of "love" relate to their perceptions of inward and outward beauty. The play is set in Messina, Italy, a small province facing the Straits of Messina, in northeastern Sicily, at the estate of the governor of Messina, Leonato. Don Pedro, Prince of Arragon, Don John, his brother, Borachio his servant, Bene*censored*, a young lord, and Claudio his best friend are all returning from war, and have been invited to stay with Leonato for a month. Shakespeare's antagonist Don John, bears much resemblance to Don John of Austria, the illegitimate son of Charles V, half-brother to the King of Aragon who defeated the Turks at Lepanto and returned to Messina after his victory in October of 1571 (Richmond 51). Don John of Austria had many of the qualities that Shakespeare's Don John did, he was not on good terms with his brother, and although he tried with much effort to gain status, he was frequently humiliated in attempts to bring himself fame. Shakespeare was known to draw parallels between his characters and actual historical figures, in an attempt to produce a sort abstract history of the times (Richmond 49). Upon returning from war, Claudio saw a young woman named Hero that he had seen before going to fight, and felt a strong attraction to her. Claudio expressed to Bene*censored* his attraction to Hero, Leonato's daughter, and Bene*censored*, with a mouth as loose as oiled hinge immediately told Don Pedro of the attraction. Don Pedro, being much closer to Leonato than any of the other veterans were, told the governor Leonato about Claudio, who in turn informed his daughter Hero of him, all with the lightning speed of gossip. Claudio's attraction to Hero is described by Shakespeare with skill as he puts emphasis on the Claudio-Hero relationship that is forming but at the same time keeps it in the background. Claudio is clearly attracted to Hero's outer beauty and knows nothing of her inner beauty, but after conversing with his friend Bene*censored* and then Don Pedro he decides he will marry Hero. A possible scheme of Claudio can be noted when after describing his attraction to Hero to Bene*censored*, he asks Don Pedro, "Hath Leonato any son, my lord?" Don Pedro replies that Hero is "his only heir."(I.i.262) An interpretation of this might be that Claudio's attraction to Hero was rooted in a pursuance of the love of Hero's wealth, masked by her outward beauty.(Brown 79) At this point the drama takes a twist and a sub-plot is formed as Don Pedro talks to Claudio about Hero and assures him that he will have Hero. Don Pedro describes to Claudio his plan of achieving this, he will don a disguise of Claudio and woo her for him. At this the scene closes, and Claudio and Bene*censored* are left to wonder about Don Pedro's intentions. Bene*censored* believes that Don Pedro wants Hero for himself, and Don John and Borrachio agree with his statement. This forces Claudio to act on his instinct and initial attraction to Hero alone and decide to marry Hero. Don John, feeling resentful of his brother is quick to accept his servant Borrachio's plan of deceiving Claudio into thinking that Hero is promiscuous, so that he can shame one of his prestigious brother's followers and prevent Claudio and Hero's marriage. Borrachio's plan included having an amorous encounter with Margaret, Hero's maid, and in the middle of everything announcing Hero's name for everyone who might be in earshot to hear. While Claudio describes his love of Hero, Bene*censored* reveals his attraction to Beatrice to Claudio, Leonato's niece, but at the same time profoundly states a declaration of bachelorism. Beatrice's character is described as a fine example of a woman in Shakespeare's time. She has a biting wit, and in her "high intellect and high animal spirits meet" (Jameson 349) Bene*censored* and Beatrice quarrel in a skirmish of wits which is merely a facade of their underlying attraction to each other, and an ongoing struggle of recognizing their love. Bene*censored* and Beatrice's attraction and pre-existing relationship is evident, and their battle of

The most obvious evidence of school attempts to accommodate people’s religious beliefs and the one thing which is sure to affect everyone involved, regardless of their religious beliefs, is the decision to simply close a school during a religious holiday. Traditionally, this has only occurred around Christmas, but that is starting to change. The question of closing school is a difficult dilemma for school administrators: if they keep schools open, they risk being portrayed as insensitive to the minority religious faiths in their community; but if they close the schools, they risk being portrayed as trying to show favoritism. This, of course, is a consequence of the tradition of always closing for Christmas - if schools never closed for any religious holiday, there could be no charges of favoritism and little basis for the allegation of any particular insensitivity. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean that schools can simply refuse to close on holidays like Christmas. It might be reasonably argued that schools would be showing hostility towards religion if they didn’t try help students make up for missed work, but it can be easier for schools to simply close and keep everyone at the same stage of instruction. Preferred Learning Style for University Students Essay

Preferred Learning Style for University Students - Essay Example Multiple intelligences is a new approach that uses multiple learning styles. People using verbal linguistic learning techniques and styles are recognized and considered as bright. Learning style has a greater influence on the learning ability of a person than one may realize. A person's learning method is guided by the preferred style of learning. Therefore every person has a preferred style of learning. People who use less preferred learning styles are usually labeled under low grades. The negative and positive belief associated with learning styles can label a person as dumb or smart. A person can improve the quality and speed of learning by understanding and be recognizing the best-suited learning styles and techniques. The learning style also changes the way a person internally envisages experiences, the method of recollecting information and the words chosen to express thoughts (Overview of Learning Styles 2007). The perception of each person is different and shapes the thoughts and decisions. It is the perception that determines the learning style or natural learning strength of an individual. There are several approaches to learning styles. The Gregorc model explains the two perceptual qualities from an abstract and concrete perspective. A concrete approach to learning enables a person to record information directly using the five senses: taste, touch, sight, hearing, and smell. A concrete approach is a method of dealing with the obvious. There is no hidden message or there is no relationship between concepts and ideas. In contrast, the abstract approach to learning enables a person to visualize, understand the unseen and conceive ideas that are not actually seen. A person uses imagination, intuition and has a sight beyond the obvious. Though all human beings have both abstract and concrete perceptual abilities, each person is comfortable using either of the approaches. This is envisaged by the natural strength in abstract or concrete abilities of the person (Mills, D.W. 2002). The concrete and abstract approach may be linked to verbal linguistic and visual-spatial styles of learning respectively. The verbal or linguistic style o f learning includes abilities in both spoken as well as written word. If a person uses this style of learning it becomes easy to express both verbally and in writing. People who use this style usually love writing and reading and has a special interest in learning the sounds and meaning of words like rhymes, tongue twisters, and limericks. Individuals who adopt verbal learning style takes care to include words and phrases they have learned recently in their conversations (The verbal (linguistic) learning style 2007).  Verbal-linguistic learning style or intelligence indicates a person's capability to solve problems, reason and learn through language. The characteristics of this style are the clear expression and good listening skills. A person talented with learning through this method usually prospers in writing and reading curriculum at school. They have well-developed memory for the contents they read and have the ability to recall the information in a clear manner in their spe ech. Language is a fascination for people who use verbal linguistic style. People who prefer verbal linguistic styles tend to learn well when taught through written and spoken materials.

'Provision of care in the NHS is integrated, seamless and effective' Essay

'Provision of care in the NHS is integrated, seamless and effective' - Essay Example Although much progress has been made, NHS clinical governance systems do not yet formally recognize the need to work in collaboration with local authorities when adult safeguarding concerns arise during healthcare delivery. There was also a clear request from NHS respondents for guidance to clarify the relationship between adverse incident reporting, complaints, and safeguarding in order to encourage reporting in a way that supports the investigation and empowers staff in the process. The aim of this guidance is to encourage organizations to develop local robust arrangements to ensure that adult safeguarding becomes fully integrated into NHS systems. This will result in greater openness and transparency about clinical incidents, learning from safeguarding concerns that occur within the NHS, clarity on reporting and more improved positive partnership working (Department of Health, 2008). NHS Lack of Communication The lack of communication with NHS has caused problems for patient care (Borrill, 2002). In The NHS Plan2 shows the need to break down barriers between staff. This was emphasized so as to tackle the inefficiencies in working practices identified: ‘Old-fashioned demarcations between staff mean some patients see a procession of health professionals... Information is not shared and investigations are repeated ... Unnecessary boundaries exist between the professions which hold back staff from achieving their true potential.’(Borrill, p.27) ‘Throughout the NHS, the old hierarchical ways of working are giving way to more flexible team working between different clinical professionals’( p82). The importance of teamwork in health care has been emphasized in numerous reports and policy documents on the National Health Service. One particularly emphasized the importance of teamwork if health and social care for people are to be of the highest quality and efficiency: ‘The best and most cost-effective outcomes for patients and clients are achieved when professionals work together, learn together, engage in clinical audit of outcomes together, and generate innovation to ensure progress in practice and service.’ Over the last thirty years this has proved very difficult because of the barriers between Professional groupings - such as doctors and nurses (Borrill, 2002). Influence and Future Practice The response of the government has been to promise a huge increase in spending on the NHS. A key challenge is how this better funded delivery of healthcare can be managed to achieve good, fair and cost effective services for the whole population. A primary prescription that policy makers and practitioners have offered for meeting such a challenge facing the NHS is the development of multidisciplinary teamwork. This report details the findings of a major national study of teamwork in the NHS on the factors associated with effective team working, and the effects on quality of care and well-being of staff (Borrill, 2 002). Planning, implementing and managing change in a fast-changing environment is increasingly the situation in which most organizations now work (Chapman, 2007). However the many complaints against NHS mannerism show their influence and practices needs improvement. Dr Janet McCray presents a grounded theory model of how inter-professional workings can be facilitated. Arising from a learning

Culture and cultural differences Essay Example for Free

Culture and cultural differences Essay â€Å"Motivation is an incentive, inducement, or motive, especially for an act† (Morris 1970) There are many ways which influence the motivation levels of an adult person to do a particular task. One of the most important factors is Culture, which is an intrinsic part of a human being. The term culture is best understood when cross-cultural people join to due to some reason, to form a group. While interacting with such a group for motivation, the main idea is to create a sense of belonging. People, who find their niche place in a group, are much more eager to perform tasks to the best of their abilities. The second most important idea for motivation is to create an environment to do work. The reasons for working vary for people from country to country – In China the work motivation is moral obligation, while in Japan it is trust and in Western societies it is incentives. All these factors should be taken care while motivating a cross-cultural group for working. One should always remember that, in the end all these people are doing the same for albeit for different reasons. What do you believe should be your primary concern when trying to motivate across cultural boundaries? Remember to justify your response. People from various cultures take incentives in a different way. People belonging to Asian countries like Japan, lay more stress on the acknowledgement of the work done, than on any material perks they might be able to earn. In contrast, people from many of the service based western countries like US think of incentives, as something which is to be won. And finally there are some people who might be from poor countries like Vietnam, where the perks mean additional money, the more they work the more they earn. Making all these people motivated with an inspirational talk, no matter how good the perks might be, is the most important factor of all. This is because, dissatisfied people might easily think on the lines of regional bias and try to de-motivate other people. A balanced talk which is aimed to effectively motivate the set of people, by seemingly addressing to the individual cultural sects of the group, hence requires the maximum talent and guile on the part of the motivating person. explorers from 1500 :: essays research papers

ALBUQUERQUE, AFONSO DEAfonso de Albuquerque (14??-1515) was a Portuguese soldier and explorer who sailed to the Spice Islands (the Moluccas, a group of Islands in Indonesia) in 1507-1511, trying to monopolize trade with this area; from Europe, he sailed around Africa to the Indian Ocean. He was appointed the Viceroy of India by King Emmanuel in 1509. He forcibly destroyed the Indian city of Calicut in January, 1510, and took Goa (in southern India) in March, 1510, claiming Goa for Portugal. AYLLON, LUCAS VAZQUEZ DELucas Và ¡zquez de Ayllà ³n (1475-1526) was a Spanish conquistador and explorer who tried to start a colony in North America in 1526. He was the first European colonizer of what is now South Carolina. His attempt to settle the coast of the Carolinas (near the mouth of the Peedee River at Winyah Bay) was unsuccessful. BALBOA, VASCO NUNEZ DEVasco Nunez de Balboa (1475-1519) was a Spanish conquistador and explorer. He was the first European to see the eastern part of the Pacific Ocean (in 1513), after crossing the Isthmus of Panama overland. CABEZA DE VACA, ALVAR NUNEZAlvar Nuà ±ez Cabeza de Vaca [Cabeza de Vaca means "head of a cow"] (1490?-1557?) was a Spanish explorer who sailed to North America from Spain, leaving in 1527. He traveled from Florida to Texas on a raft, then walked from Texas to Mexico City. He also explored the Paraguay River in South America. De Vaca and his fellow travelers were the first Europeans to see the bison, or American buffalo. CABRAL, PEDRO ALVARESPedro à lvares Cabral (1467-1520) was a Portuguese nobleman, explorer, and navigator who was the first European to see Brazil (on April 22, 1500). His patron was King Manuel I of Portugal, who sent him on an expedition to India. Cabral's 13 ships left on March 9, 1500, following the route of Vasco da Gama. On April 22,1500, he sighted land (Brazil), claiming it for Portugal and naming it the "Island of the True Cross." King Manuel renamed this land Holy Cross; it was later renamed once again, to Brazil, after a kind of dyewood found there, called pau-brasil. Cabral stayed in Brazil for 10 days and then continued on his way to India, in a trip fraught with shipwrecks (at the Cape of Good Hope), and fighting (with Muslim traders in India). After trading for spices in India, Cabral returned to Portugal on June 23, 1501, with only four of the original 13 ships.

Computerized Enrollment System Essay

Improvement in computer world means the act of making new arrangement or style of doing work, activities, and processes efficiently, effectively and faster from the past, that brings convenient to the people. Improvement is an opportunity for every one and in any organizations, the researchers want to have a part in this improvement either it be great or small, if there’s opportunity to be a part of this improvement the researchers wants to grab this opportunity. In this present world, technology is growing faster specially computer technology, using this kind of technology, information can be view very fast as well as to make reports out of this records through printing. In a school, computerized schedule retrieval is a great help to students, faculty and staff in terms of retrieving schedules of a student, subjects, instructors, rooms, and specific section and use it for a specific purposes. Using this kind of system can contribute improvements to the school. Look more:Â  example of perseverance essay In making schedules manually, it will take a long process since the staff assigned to it should assure that there is no conflict of schedules between rooms and instructors. The personnel should assure that the instructor should have not exceeded to the maximum load. The personnel should also assure that the schedules of those students should be distributed in regular school days, for night classes schedules should be in night time, and for weekend classes schedules should be in weekend days. Because of this the personnel becomes tired and sometimes when the personnel reviews the schedules, conflict of schedules occur, and posting the new schedules of every room can’t be done. And in the side of the students, they get tired writing the subjects and schedules in the form during enrollment. And finding vacant rooms in a specific time takes a time, since someone should go around and look for a vacant room. The researchers were hoping to reduce the time spent in creating the schedules, without conflict schedules, to reduce the time spent in getting schedules during enrollment, to access easily the schedules of rooms to find vacancy. Background of the Study Creating and retrieving schedules is not an easy job. It requires patience and perseverance. Patience in assigning every subject to a specific instructor in specific rooms, assuring that every schedules of every subject should be distributed in regular days, the personnel assigned to do this job assures that in every regular days a students should have a scheduled subject. The personnel assures that there’s no conflict of schedules like having 2 classes in the same room and time and Instructor is handling two classes at the same time. Perseverance that even if the personnel were very tired, he/she still needs to review the schedules to assure that all schedules were complete and no conflict of schedule. Many students get tired in writing their schedules with the same information in 4 different forms in every semester and in irregular students they find it difficult to add a subject, assuring that the schedule of the subject will not be conflict to the subject that he/she has. When the instructor was trying to find a vacant room in a specific time the instructor needs to look for the posted schedule in every room to find a vacant room and it takes time and energy finding for vacant room in the entire building. And sometimes because there’s not enough time new schedule of every room will not be posted. Because of these problems the system will hopefully give a solution for these problems.

Formal Charge Example Problem

Resonance structures are all the possible Lewis structures for a molecule. Formal charge is a technique to identify which resonance structure is the more correct structure. The most correct Lewis structure will be the structure where the formal charges are evenly distributed throughout the molecule. The sum of all the formal charges should equal the total charge of the molecule.Formal charge is the difference between the number of valence electrons of each atom and the number of electrons the atom is associated with. The equation takes the form:FC eV - eN - eB/2whereeV number of valence electrons of the atom as if it were isolated from the moleculeeN number of unbound valence electrons on the atom in the moleculeeB number of electrons shared by the bonds to other atoms in the moleculeThe two resonance structures in the above picture are for carbon dioxide, CO2. To determine which diagram is the correct one, the formal charges for each atom must be calculated. For Structure A:eV fo r oxygen 6eV for carbon 4To find eN, count the number of electron dots around the atom.br/>eN for O1 4eN for C 0eN for O2 4To find eB, count the bonds to the atom. Each bond is formed by two electrons, one donated from each atom involved in the bond. Multiply each bond by two to get the total number of electrons.eB for O1 2 bonds 4 electronseB for C 4 bonds 8 electronseB for O2 2 bonds 4 electronsUse these three values to calculate the formal charge on each atom.
